Luck of the Not So Irish

I have no Irish heritage but decided this year to go all out and celebrate St. Patrick's Day, thanks to inspiration from my Irish friends and family and the Internet.

Breakfast

Green Eggs and Bacon
Donuts with green sprinkles (green bagels were unavailable)
Honeydew

Lunch

Lucky Charms
Edamame
Limeade
Shamrock Shake from McDonald's

Dinner

Angel Hair with Pesto
Green Salad
Green Milk
Green Jello Shamrocks
Green Frosted Cookies

Aurora went on a Leprechaun Treasure Hunt among the shamrocks in the backyard.
She colored a Leprechaun and Rainbow, did a Irish sequence worksheet, and punched a Shamrock picture.
We sang some fun St. Patty's Day songs.
She took a green bath.
We read A Fine St. Patrick's Day by Susan Wojciechowski (which by some miracle still happened to be at the library today)
And all in all consumed way too much sugar. This would account for why Aurora kept getting out of bed until 11:00pm. I'll have to modify the celebration for next year.

Wow I stink. All we did was get Green shakes at Carls Jr. I'll have to be better next year.

Wow, that was some serious Irishness. We went to a forest preserve and observed green trees, green turtles and green frogs. :) Why no corned beef or cabage though?

Woo Hoo! We had green oatmeal (which ended up looking kind of gross) for breakfast & chicken & green pepper tacos with leftover green Cafe Rio Dressing & Cilantro Lime Rice. I think we got lost on our way to Ireland & ended up in Mexico.
LOVE those Jello Shamrocks! Too fun!

Okay I am lame. We did nothing. I remembered when we were driving to the cannery. We had an adventure in Houston but nothing Irish related. I will have to do better next year.

And I thought I went all out with green cup cakes and cream soda in beer bottles...

Can I fly home to California next St. Patrick's Day and celebrate it with you, Aurora, and Allegra?

The kids and I adore that picture of Aurora. We miss her and we want to see more of her!!!! What a fun St. Patricks Day (makes me look like a loser, but that's okay). Promise me that we can hog Aurora when we're down there ina couple weeks...

How fun! What a lucky girl to have such memories you're creating with her. I remember the girls had a leprechaun visit them in kindergarten. Something to look forward to...
