Strawberry Shortcake for Dinner

My mom reminded me of our family tradition of having strawberry shortcake for dinner one night during strawberry season. When I told Mark that's what we were having for dinner, he said, "That's it?" I thought he'd be pleased. When I put Aurora's plate in front of her, she said, "You can't have strawberry shortcake for dinner!" When I gave Allegra her plate, she held it tight and reverently said, "Ooooohhhhhhhh!"
Then she took a bite and let out an almost maniacal laugh like, "This is the best meal ever, ha ha ha. My mom is a sucker!" And then she kept laughing like that after each bite! It was hysterical! That's my girl!

Grandma and the Garden

In March, we had a wonderful springtime visit from my mom. We had so much fun!

A perfect family day

As a reward for succeeding in our Stake's challenge to read The Book of Mormon in six months , we went miniature golfing at Adventure Landing, Aurora's choice. We had the entire place to ourselves(it was after all, a Wednesday at 11:00) so had all the time in the world. The weather was absolutely perfect! Aurora got a hole in one on her first try!
Every turn, Allegra would stand on the putting spot, then run down the green and then drop her ball in the hole.
She was pretty proud of herself.

Afterwards we went to Rudy's for special 32 cents brisket day! We really know how to "feast upon the word"!
