A surprise visitor

Today we had a surprise visitor and our first out-of-state family visitor, my Uncle Tom! He flew in for business and had some time to see us! We were so excited! We took him to our favorite restaurant, Rudy's for some mouth-watering Texas Bar-B-Q. Uncle Tom is a hunter so we had to make sure he taught Aurora a few tricks.
Don't worry, no ducks or frogs were hurt in the process. And I promise, we are not getting a gun rack for our car.

He also treated her to her favorite--ice cream!

Aurora's First Day of Preschool

My baby is growing up! Aurora started at Learn 'N Playday, preschool sponsored by the school district. It just happens to only be held at the elementary school she will be attending next year, within walking distance of our house. It is extremely hard to get into (you sign up a year and a half in advance). I, of course, didn't know this when I put her on the waiting list in March (she was number 30). But when I got an email the day before we closed on our house that there was an opening in the TTH class, I jumped on it! And if that weren't amazing enough, there are 8 kids from church in her class, including her new best friend, Shelby! Everything happens for a reason, right?
