Mark and I have decided on a name for Baby Sister and we were actually able to agree! Her name will be . . .

Day One
So Day One of being a SAHM was a success. The highlight was Monday. Mark was home and we all went to Bridgeport Lake to see the ducks. There were lots of baby ducks which were very cute but they didn't come very close. Aurora was a little sad about that.
Aurora preferred pushing the stroller to riding in it. Which brings me to my current dilemma--do I buy a double stroller or a sit-and-stand? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated because I've been researching for four months and am still stumped.
After the lake, we visited Nana at work at the hospital. She's a Labor/Nursery nurse at Henry Mayo and it was good to stop in to see all the nurses. We got to know them really well the last time. Hopefully this time will be a little quicker. We told them to save the Princess Suite for us in about three months.
Next was lunch at Buon Gusto. We had a gift certificate from Restaurant.com that we had been wanting to use since November. It was quite delicious. Aurora loved the gelato--I've never seen her mouth open so wide and so fast. What can I say, it's in her blood.

At the end of the day, I told Mark, "This must be what families do on the weekend." The sad thing is, we had never been able to relax and enjoy time together. That is definitely going to change.

Let me explain the title

You may be wondering where I came up with the title of my blog, Wisteria and Sunshine. My senior year at BYU, my favorite professor, Sharon Swenson told me her favorite movie was The Enchanted April. I fell in love the movie and the book by Elizabeth von Arnim about four very different English women who answer an ad in the newspaper "For those who love wisteria and sunshine. . . Small Italian Castle to let for the month of April." Having served my mission in Italy, I know how enchanting the country can be. The book reminds me to make my life a "vacation" where I can find joy, tranquility, and good friends.
In honor of becoming a SAHM in the month of April, I hope that my postings on this blog will remind me to make my life "enchanted."
I finally did it!
I vowed that when I became a Stay at Home Mom I would start my own personal blog. As a Working Mom, I felt that I never had anything interesting to post. "Today I went to work. I saw Aurora for twenty minutes before putting her to bed. I feel guilty." That would have been it--every day. No one wants to read that.
Well, when I went to see my OB on April 19, she said, "I would feel better if you stopped working." My blood pressure has been high this entire pregnancy (again) so I knew this would be coming, but I didn't expect it this early! I was extactic--but had to go back to work and pretend this was going to be tough. Tough for them, that is. Pilot season was just beginning and another of my coworkers had just moved the previous Tuesday. With me gone, it left one guy to do the work of three. But my boss was understanding and I packed up my things and went home.
So after one week of being a full time SAHM, I have to say that I love it! I can't understand why women would choose to work. Sure it's hard sometimes (and I can only imagine it's going to get worse in a few months) but compared to the stress of balancing work and home and never being good at either, I'm happy to take this path. I feel like a completely different person. Let's just hope my blood pressure goes down so I don't have to go on bed rest!
