Candy Listening: We've been doing this one for two years now, and it's definitely the favorite and most requested. Listen for a certain word, get the associated candy. Aurora is now trying to use equivalent words (i.e. Savior is the same as Jesus). We've had to limit it to the exact word and only one usage per talk. One talk actually included every word. Yikes. Major sugar high around here!
This was a new one: Speaker Bags. I usually make conference notebooks with activity pages but they burn through those in five minutes. This year I had one bag for each General Authority with their picture on it. They had to find the right bag and do the activity inside. If the speaker was not a General Authority, they could do any activity that had already been done. It worked quite well.
This was my favorite. Each General Authority had a leaf with their picture. The girls had to find the correct leaf. I took notes on it. If it wasn't a General Authority, I just wrote on a blank leaf. Great for those lessons "So what was your favorite talk during conference?" What? I was required to actually listen while trying to keep my kids quiet?
And for just a few minutes, they acted like they loved each other! Happy Conference!
