My mom reminded me of our family tradition of having strawberry shortcake for dinner one night during strawberry season. When I told Mark that's what we were having for dinner, he said, "That's it?" I thought he'd be pleased. When I put Aurora's plate in front of her, she said, "You can't have strawberry shortcake for dinner!"
When I gave Allegra her plate, she held it tight and reverently said, "Ooooohhhhhhhh!"
Then she took a bite and let out an almost maniacal laugh like, "This is the best meal ever, ha ha ha. My mom is a sucker!" And then she kept laughing like that after each bite! It was hysterical! That's my girl!
