Big Girl Bed

The time has come for Aurora to graduate from the crib to the Big Girl Bed. Night #1 started out great. We read a book about it. I showed her the new princess sheets and blanket. We talked about how Baby Allegra was going to start sleeping with her. But she came out of her room two times and then asked to sleep in the crib. By then I was too tired to object.

Night #2 I laid in the bed with her for a while. Then I sat in the rocking chair for half an hour. She wouldn't lay down. I finally left and closed the door and she screamed bloody murder for fifteen minutes. I have no idea if she gave up and went to bed, or is laying on the floor. I don't dare open the door.

Does anyone have an suggestions?

Good luck! Jared is going to be sleeping in his crib until he is five! Just kidding. He doesn't ever try to climb out and Jacqueline is content to sleep in the pack n' play for the moment so I am not messing with them. I will wait until you figure it out.

Oh Carrie, I am so sorry!!! I really don't have any suggestions, because my girls never really had a hard time with the transition. And Tucker is still in a crib. I think I will be leaving him there for a LONG time!! Bedtime is already a nightmare with him IN the crib, I don't even want to think what it will be like when he is out of the crib!!!

There's a great book on getting into a sleeping routine by Farber or is it Faber? My sister-in-law swears by it. Unfortunately, I didn't know about it when my kids were younger. Now Kalei's having trouble sleeping in the middle of the night and wandering back and forth to our room, to Carly's and finally to Lauren. I may look up that book again and let you know what I find.
